Dr. Young

Benjamin Young, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon — Adult Hip & Knee Reconstruction

Dr. Benjamin Young is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction. He recently joined The Summit, bringing advanced joint replacement expertise from his established Wichita practice with Mid-America Orthopedics to patients in Hutchinson and across central Kansas.

Raised in Manhattan, Kansas, Dr. Young brings both national-level training and a strong connection to the region. He earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University before completing medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine. He returned to Kansas for his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita, then completed two advanced fellowships: orthopedic oncology at the University of Florida and adult reconstruction at Johns Hopkins University.

Through his fellowship training at Johns Hopkins and the University of Florida, Dr. Young brings a new level of hip and knee reconstruction care to Hutchinson. His expertise includes total hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial joint replacement, arthritis evaluation and treatment, joint preservation strategies, and nonsurgical management of joint pain.

Dr. Young’s addition expands The Summit’s orthopedic program with highly specialized hip and knee reconstruction care. For patients with arthritis, joint pain, or mobility limitations, his presence in Hutchinson creates a new local and regional pathway to advanced joint replacement expertise backed by training from two nationally respected academic medical centers.
